Cause when you die you die. That sucks.
I appreciate life so much more when I learned about evolution and how we really came to be
But think about it
Think about everyone who didn’t get to live
Think about sex
In all of that sperm only one cell gets to enter the womb
Out of the hundreds of thousands of possible lives that could’ve been born
You just so happen to have been lucky enough to experience this paradise of a planet
Of all the other sperm that could’ve been
You got to have this experience
I use to be so scared of death but when I learned about this stuff and how lucky we are to even exist I became great full
It would’ve been so easy for use not to exist
You do realize that life sucks for many or maybe even most people on this planet
Yes
But that has nothing to do with this
It is terrible
Life owes nobody anything
You get to live
Some are lucky snobby to have been born in a place like America
And others not so lucky and live in North Korea
Do you know how much easier it is puting up with all the bullshit of life knowing (in my own head) that all this is simply making me who I am and then it's done and that's when I'll really be able to live.
Then if you’d rather go to wishful thinking then that is fine and that is what you prefer. But I enjoy what science has discovered and luckily what science has discovered about life as turned out to be very beautiful and meaningful. It didn’t have to turn out that way but it did and I think that it is just great to know that the way the world really works is in a beautiful way, not some dull boring 1 plus 1 lame science way. But a fantastic and fascinating way
Like I said I'm not arguing against evelution nor am I arguing for a creator. I'm just saying I don't know and need more convincing. Because I hold my belief near and dear to my heart.
And I don't see it as wishful thinking. I see it more like holding fast to hope
@Deleted User I understand and I respect that. And I look down on people that don’t respect that.
Or rather that can’t respect that
Once I came to the realization that a God actually exists my life changed in a profound way. I realized at that point that I was a major jerk to people in my lifetime. How many female I hurt for very selfish reasons. I was really all about me.
I showed nowhere near the love I should have toward my kids
So to be honest. I would lose a lot if I gave up on my beliefs.
Now for me it's just about understanding God. And perhaps evolution is a mechanism of God
The only person that can open your mind or change your mind is you. So hearing anyone of us on here talking about it isn’t going to do it. If you find peace in a god and you get your good values from believing in one then I think that is fine it doesn’t harm anyone. At the end of the day you can learn everything about the universe and about life and there will always be one missing origin that science hasn’t found out yet and maybe can never find out. You can then say that origin is god and a lot of scientists do that. I think it was issac Newton that said he was discovering the wonders of gods works or something along those lines
But anyway it was a good discussion but I think we both need to do to bed now lol. Good night @Deleted User
Yeah I read somewhere that science came about from people questioning how God did it
Im in alaska so it's still early here
can i ask how old you are?
48
And I come here to talk because Travis has a pretty open mind and he's not super mean when criticizing
Plus I hold a pretty uncommon belief and there aren't many places I can go to discuss it
good not that old then. i always thought to myself id never want to tell an older person god doesnt exist becuase of the whole death thing lol. but you still have alot of life to live
yeah I'm still good. I got a lot of time
