@everyone The first War of Ideas challenge is here: https://shoutout.wix.com/so/ecNDs0nul
I fell asleep listening to Christopher Hitchens and dreamed that I was taking a road trip with him. It was really cool.

@ThePangburn I agree with that profoundly. I think we tend to run away from our own humanity.
Working on an article for that right now!
I have an article prepared but I can't afford the publication fee.
Isnβt the battlefield free?
Yeah. I wanted to publish an article though. Maybe after the next stimulus check. :)
I posted a chapter of my current manuscript about my main character struggling with deconversion in the battlefield.
I hope your interested.
Fun
@everyone Question: If legislation that ultimately bans the bible is placed on the ballot, how would you vote?
I would not vote.
Id vote no.
Banning the bible would bolster their claims that they are gods chosen ppl, reaffirms their claims that they will be persecuted in the end days, it could Strengthen their beliefs...
Ban teaching it in any classroom except theology id be ok with that
I vote Yes for Banning Banning...
@MerlinCrow what do you say about my reasoning?
Your assumptions have some weight.
But I am not a believer so I can not tell you how I would respond...
I do not like to be controlled in any way so I am sure I would feel fucked for sure...
Banning the bible os crazy talk...
Is
@Zentz it has been done before
@Wardawg_79 True that it would bolster. Many Christians today are expecting it to happen. Any many believe it is near.
Coming from the bible guy, if you seek to ban the Bible you are naive. Keep in mind, in America you have the right to be stupid...that being said it is a free market of ideas. Even I would not take the position to ban Atheism or Islam, or whatever belief structure you want to call. It is important for people to be exposed to different ideas. Banning the bible is nothing more than censorship of a competing idea.
@James B. So then your vote would be no. I saw a headline this morning stating California is outlawing in home bible studies. So I was curious what the people here would say.
Right on naz
@Deleted User California is being hijacked by leftist ideology. It does not surprise me they would come out with this sad piece of legislation. Keep in mind just because they make a law does not mean it is enforceable. Even if it were to pass.... A case would make its way to the supreme court and the law will be declared unconstitutional.
This is a little alarming.... even as an atheist..

Censorship is always alarming
regardless of which side does it
exactly
The unfortunate reality of our world is people have to travel through ideas and life in order to mature. To rob people of exposure to the idea is really not good
But during a time of crisis the supreme court acts a bit wishy washy when it comes to the constitution
@Deleted User Elaborate
There is already a precedent set in California. The ban on church services was challenged and the church lost.
