I fell asleep listening to Christopher Hitchens and dreamed that I was taking a road trip with him. It was really cool.

@ThePangburn I agree with that profoundly. I think we tend to run away from our own humanity.

Working on an article for that right now!

2020-07-22 16:26:12 UTC

I have an article prepared but I can't afford the publication fee.

2020-07-22 16:26:25 UTC

Isn’t the battlefield free?

2020-07-22 16:27:02 UTC

Yeah. I wanted to publish an article though. Maybe after the next stimulus check. :)

2020-07-22 16:27:42 UTC

I posted a chapter of my current manuscript about my main character struggling with deconversion in the battlefield.

2020-07-22 16:33:06 UTC

@Delta I'm really looking forward to engaging with your ideas. :)

2020-07-22 16:33:43 UTC

I hope your interested.

2020-07-22 16:36:02 UTC

@everyone Question: If legislation that ultimately bans the bible is placed on the ballot, how would you vote?

2020-07-22 17:17:21 UTC

I would not vote.

2020-07-22 17:17:51 UTC

Id vote no.

2020-07-22 17:21:32 UTC

Banning the bible would bolster their claims that they are gods chosen ppl, reaffirms their claims that they will be persecuted in the end days, it could Strengthen their beliefs...

2020-07-22 17:23:35 UTC

Ban teaching it in any classroom except theology id be ok with that

2020-07-22 17:24:19 UTC

I vote Yes for Banning Banning...

2020-07-22 17:24:33 UTC

Free speech. Educate people. God is not even a theory.

2020-07-22 17:25:21 UTC

@MerlinCrow what do you say about my reasoning?

2020-07-22 17:26:47 UTC

Your assumptions have some weight.

2020-07-22 17:27:10 UTC

But I am not a believer so I can not tell you how I would respond...

2020-07-22 17:28:06 UTC

I do not like to be controlled in any way so I am sure I would feel fucked for sure...

2020-07-22 17:32:59 UTC

Banning the bible os crazy talk...

2020-07-22 17:33:06 UTC

Is

2020-07-22 17:33:54 UTC

@Zentz it has been done before

2020-07-22 17:40:51 UTC

@Wardawg_79 True that it would bolster. Many Christians today are expecting it to happen. Any many believe it is near.

2020-07-22 17:48:42 UTC

Coming from the bible guy, if you seek to ban the Bible you are naive. Keep in mind, in America you have the right to be stupid...that being said it is a free market of ideas. Even I would not take the position to ban Atheism or Islam, or whatever belief structure you want to call. It is important for people to be exposed to different ideas. Banning the bible is nothing more than censorship of a competing idea.

2020-07-22 17:53:47 UTC

@James B. So then your vote would be no. I saw a headline this morning stating California is outlawing in home bible studies. So I was curious what the people here would say.

2020-07-22 17:53:50 UTC

Right on naz

2020-07-22 17:57:14 UTC

@Deleted User California is being hijacked by leftist ideology. It does not surprise me they would come out with this sad piece of legislation. Keep in mind just because they make a law does not mean it is enforceable. Even if it were to pass.... A case would make its way to the supreme court and the law will be declared unconstitutional.

Censorship is always alarming

2020-07-22 17:59:06 UTC

regardless of which side does it

2020-07-22 18:00:19 UTC

exactly

2020-07-22 18:00:41 UTC

The unfortunate reality of our world is people have to travel through ideas and life in order to mature. To rob people of exposure to the idea is really not good

2020-07-22 18:00:54 UTC

But during a time of crisis the supreme court acts a bit wishy washy when it comes to the constitution

2020-07-22 18:01:34 UTC

@Deleted User Elaborate

2020-07-22 18:02:38 UTC

There is already a precedent set in California. The ban on church services was challenged and the church lost.
