"My daughter, husband and grandchildren lost their beautiful home. Everybody did! The ones who didn't, their houses are destroyed by smoke damage etc. .
What upsets me MOST is Highway 99 heading both south towards Sacramento and north towards Redding, is ONLY one lane both ways. People could not get out "fast enough." For over 10+ years they've been "talking about" widening Highway 99, but STILL have not. Last year, it was the Oroville dam and 180,000+ had to be "evacuated." Again, people could not get out fast enough. I lived in Chico, till 3 years ago, for 29 years and I know what I'm talking about. What is it going to take, for "them," to widen the only highway out of most of Northern California communities to Sacramento and/or Redding heading north??
But, Jerry Brown has a NEW fast/speed train from LA to San Francisco. Really great "priorities" there Governor Brown. The liberal left is destroying California!! This is also one of the reasons I moved to a different state. California is changing and definitely not for the better."
"I live in Sacramento over 80 miles away and due to the fires the air here is not breathable. For the last week, this whole region has been blanketed in dark, toxic, ubiquitous smoke and particulates. It's everywhere, it's getting inside buildings and there's no way to avoid it. Schools are all shut down. It's so hazy and smoky outside... It's otherworldly. I've never seen the air like this in my life. Everyone is walking around with masks and respirators... it feels like a movie. The sad part... It's a mostly conservative area where the fire happened but it got extremely bad due to the liberal policies of not wanting to cut down trees, manage the forests and do controlled burns. Maybe this will be a wakeup call to the brainless liberal government here."
Saw this on Twitter. Some thing is going on in Haiti. US forces have taken control of the airport? https://twitter.com/jaci_WWG1WGA/status/1064009997737168896
