When Christ was lifted up it was promised He would draw all men to Him.

hat is why you have to put on the whole armor of God.
1. Jesus sets the standard for serving
2. Nothing you do goes unnoticed
3. Relationship is at the heart of serving
5. The reward for serving is eternal
Bottom line: love is the standard, serving is proof
Just to be clear where I'm going with this, Jesus is the standard God lifted up against the flood of the enemy. His main attribute, according especially through the apostle John but also a common refrain through the scriptures is love. If we therefor, are members of His body, we should also have that attribute.
Love is not smarmy. It is correction, reproof, steadfast help in time of trouble, encompassing all that God is.
