Organized religion killed Jesus Christ.

i always thought it was more like 'the state' did it, as in the romans goverment.

It was the Jewish priests, due to their jealousy of Jesus that started the ball rolling. They then put it off on the Romans to cover their own crime.

The Bible is the only source material I need. When Jesus was in the garden at the time of His arrest, it was the temple guards who arrested Him and took Him before the Sanhedrin, The High Jewish leadership, who then asked Pilot, the Roman Governor, to put him to death. Pilot protested but they made enough of an issue over it that he felt he had to do what they asked. He even tried to wash his hands of the matter. He was, however, already caught in their web of deceit. History tells us he eventually drowned himself in a well in Switzerland.

Read the gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke in particular. The story is spelled out quite clearly there.

Just to be clear, it was the Romans who did the evil deed. It was the Romans who co-opted the Christian religion and used it for their purposes, a process they developed to bring people under their sway.

Again, to be clear, I am not anti-Jew. I am anti man-made, corrupt, organized religion of any stripe. When Jesus ascended He sent us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us. Pastors, teachers etc are supposed to be servants of the saints (sanctified members of the body of Christ). Nowhere did he tell men to build religious organizations, orders etc.
