I find I learn reading their writings and ideation vs an echo chamber.
Some linguists believe the first language was clicking. I think the abbreviation of our language to texting and even speaking in abbreviations could take us back to clicking.
Maybe simultaeneous language and tool use must arise synchronously TERRY - bushmen of the calihari ???
@dumpster There is wealth of research concerning the development of of porto-language development, especially proto-indo-european culture
auto- correct is killing me this morning
Well language sophisticaion must match technological sophistication - look at our language now (auto correct aside) and the tech we r using
@dumpster I was thinking of the language in “The Gods Must be Crazy.” Still exists for how many years?
@Terry Flagg - coke bottle if i remember???
@dumpster sort of agree, however substructure syntax has remained constant
*pew pew*
@dumpster yes, that movie. You know more about the people than I do.
I remember the Gods Must be Crazy. 😃
@Pawhuska OK i have no idea what a syntax is - but language learning is hardwired into humans

Hello Holly
more trees
@D3M0_Anon I posted that exact thing earlier lol
Auto correct could be another tool to dumb down language . Do kids memorize long poems anymore? I remember few phone numbers anymore.
Song is a form of poetry - kids remember them i guess
tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, creeps at this petty pace for the longest time, and all our yesterdays have lighted fools, the way to dusty death, out out brief candle, life is but a poor player (****) on a stage.....strutting and fretting his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. There, that's the best I could do from my 1976 cobwebs
@SighOperator Alice in Wonderland ?
@dumpster that is true. I saw a video of young Jewish boys memorizing the Tora. They chanted it. Music or chanting is a great tool for memorizing.
i even learned Hamlet's soliloquy in the 80s just for fun, so i can butcher that too but it takes longer
My mother memorized hundreds of poems in school. It’s beautiful. I wish I learnt this.
@V77 that was Shakespeare and for the life of me I am not sure, MacBeth, i think
@SighOperator whoa
@V77 I do think memorizing those poems was very important, even if we didn’t enjoy t at the time.
You have gained a rank @Terry Flagg, you just advanced to 4 . Thanks for all you do Patriot!
Of course. I should remember this. @Terry Flagg classical Literature is so important and beautiful.
