Yes, we need to have a mandatory conscription. It does not have to be front-line stuff. But every kid needs to do some months learning what this country is, why it is, what makes it great, how to handle a weapon, and then about six months abroad so they can sample the air elsewhere. Civics and appreciation needed.

@Deleted User having lived thru the years with the draft during Viet Nam, the discrimination against and minorities was un believable . I am not a civil rights person, but the draft was unfairly administered. I believe in need for civics back into schools and voluntary community service. But, anything run by the gov't does not work well.
