Masonry was created to combat tyranny i.e. Catholic Church. Masons are learn that tyranny is fueled by ignorance, superstition and fanaticism. Masons believed in pragmatism, logic, reason, and truth. However it was infiltrated by bad elements. There are good masons and bad masons. The good ones are few and most not aware of the deep history.
