There is no requirement for a 2 party system so the people can circumvent that any time they choose.

Don't need to change government because the people allowed 2 businesses to dominate the field.

That is for state. The state group of those Reps would be responsible to the state's Senators to DC. As for Reps - forHouse of Reps, the same thing - several entries and not just Repub or Dem.

I must admit, I was never completely clear what original Senators sent to the nation's Capitol where there for - their requirement

The Senate was to reprersent the interests of the state legislature, while the House of Representatives was to represent the interests of the people

Anyway, we could discuss the system(s) current or desired and not can nor will ever be done about it nor changed in out lifetimes.

correct, but it needs to be put into a historical perspective too. Aside from the constitutional role, Senatore represented and ..shall we say "establishment or wealth" perspective. Not be elected locally means the have to have broader range of interest.

@Rekkedge No choice and no choice. It a conservative doesn't stand up for conservative values should they be in office in any case. Seems lawmaker should be willing to fight against corruption rather than fold like a wet suit. We need way more Sheepdog in office and not just a nice smile or smooth talker. No dissing your rep but don't understand what threat would make me quit a position of that magnitute.

@Groot My Representative - Tom Garrett - 5th dist VA. had death threats to his family and he and his wife had a new baby and they were both recovering alchaholics, so the threats and stress and who knows what else, forced Tom to throw in the towel. But, if Deep State wanted to plant "their CLOWN" into the 5th dist, then who knows what they did to get Tom to quit - after primary season - thus we didn't vote for Denver Riggleman in a proimary - he was appointed candidate by the Repub committee...
