Debate and representation of diversity. Not what we have today. Representation at the lowest level to hold accountable to those that elect there rep.

2019-08-18 20:45:01 UTC

Sorry, but I don't exactly understand what you mean

2019-08-18 20:48:33 UTC

One is elected locally and needs to be held accountable locally, not pawned off at a national or state level. Reel in Bad actors locally....forget the fed or the state doing what the locals have long forgotten.

2019-08-18 20:50:12 UTC

I kind of think - not sure - we're misunderstanding what I mean by "unicameral"

2019-08-18 20:50:40 UTC

1 v 2 legislative chambers

2019-08-18 20:51:28 UTC

Most states are designed same as the U.S.

2019-08-18 20:52:01 UTC

Yes. representative only - more districts to be more "tightly represented" and no Senate. The is still Judicial and Governor [Executive]

2019-08-18 20:53:53 UTC

Well you know the senators are supposed to be elected by the states, not popular vote. Today they are not...so unconstitutional....so you have your unicameral operating today.

2019-08-18 20:53:58 UTC

kinda

2019-08-18 20:54:37 UTC

As for the U.S - Federal - Senators would be "appointed" as ambassadors to DC by the state single chamber Representative body and can be recalled at any time they do not represent the state's interest. Basically, the people whould get their Reps to recally some bad-actor Senator

2019-08-18 20:57:09 UTC

That's not our Constitution so you could argue any number of parameters to get to a single legislature.

2019-08-18 20:57:57 UTC

My bottom lin with unicameral is basically the - searching for a term - busting up the two party choice - Repub or Dem. People whould have choice of several entries and the one that receives the most votes for your small district wins.

2019-08-18 20:59:20 UTC

There is no requirement for a 2 party system so the people can circumvent that any time they choose.

2019-08-18 21:00:13 UTC

Don't need to change government because the people allowed 2 businesses to dominate the field.

2019-08-18 21:00:14 UTC

That is for state. The state group of those Reps would be responsible to the state's Senators to DC. As for Reps - forHouse of Reps, the same thing - several entries and not just Repub or Dem.

2019-08-18 21:02:04 UTC

I must admit, I was never completely clear what original Senators sent to the nation's Capitol where there for - their requirement

2019-08-18 21:02:27 UTC

Red v Blue is not a reason to change government.

2019-08-18 21:02:45 UTC

It's clear what Representatives are for,but Senators?

2019-08-18 21:03:22 UTC

The Senate was to reprersent the interests of the state legislature, while the House of Representatives was to represent the interests of the people

2019-08-18 21:05:27 UTC

Anyway, we could discuss the system(s) current or desired and not can nor will ever be done about it nor changed in out lifetimes.

2019-08-18 21:05:58 UTC

Hey @RickBulow74 How's it going brother?

2019-08-18 21:06:39 UTC

correct, but it needs to be put into a historical perspective too. Aside from the constitutional role, Senatore represented and ..shall we say "establishment or wealth" perspective. Not be elected locally means the have to have broader range of interest.

2019-08-18 21:07:41 UTC

@RickBulow74 how goes the battle

2019-08-18 21:08:49 UTC

Been busy with a few things offline, but no compalaints

2019-08-18 21:09:53 UTC

I don't know what the answer is. I only know reading about Nebraska's unicameral system without a Senate seems simpler and less "party-bound" electing your Representative to the state legislature

2019-08-18 21:10:40 UTC

Hey @Groot

2019-08-18 21:10:48 UTC

Mother said to say hello

2019-08-18 21:10:58 UTC

I've got two choices in Nov 2020- Evil Dem or Evil Repub CLOWN

2019-08-18 21:13:14 UTC

It is at least now clear what happened to my Christian-Constitutional-Conservative - Freedom Caucus member. He and his family was threatened and he quit

2019-08-18 21:15:06 UTC

Now, I've got a former Air Force Intell Operator, then Military contractor Deep State CLOWN that owns and operates a distillery - makes hooch

2019-08-18 21:18:19 UTC

Hi @Gailm ...sorry for delay ..I was munchin.

2019-08-18 21:18:50 UTC

Mom said to say hello to my Patriot friends, but also to Groot

2019-08-18 21:19:11 UTC

2019-08-18 21:19:44 UTC

Found my original Social Security card in his drawer

2019-08-18 21:19:50 UTC

ahh dinner was great, hey everyone

2019-08-18 21:19:53 UTC

and my brother's birth certificate

2019-08-18 21:21:53 UTC

@Rekkedge No choice and no choice. It a conservative doesn't stand up for conservative values should they be in office in any case. Seems lawmaker should be willing to fight against corruption rather than fold like a wet suit. We need way more Sheepdog in office and not just a nice smile or smooth talker. No dissing your rep but don't understand what threat would make me quit a position of that magnitute.

2019-08-18 21:22:06 UTC

@Gailm so, dad kept track of stuff you and brother were slackers about?

2019-08-18 21:22:22 UTC

No, these were originals.
