yesterday believe cali
Our neighbor when I was a kid had a wood burning stove
But I'm pretty old
interesting....why the hop....or is that normal
Funny, I remember HER stove, but not ours
my grand parents used theier wood stove right up to the mid 70's
house always had that wood smell
@Gailm I remember my neighbor stove(s) also, they had two wood burners. TANKS. One was beautifully converted to gas. Those were pieces of art.
grama would be up at 5 getting the stove started to cook breakfast/coffee
that is so cool
i often think about what it was like to have infants back then, man that must have been some hard work
welp you didn't have a how to book
make sure you have shelter, clothing , cloth diapers, water always there to keep your infant clean so it wouldn't get rashes or skin diseases
brb
lol true @woodsracer544
Yes, Gramma would be up early getting her stove started, too
Now I remember she had one before she moved
who would have the tools and strength to chop that wood lol
them books just fubarr you now a days.....
from the attic
and from the wood shed
They were honey bees
you would have to build a forge start a fire , mine for ore , wow just all that mess to make an axe
We had lots of honey
them old wood kitchen stoves are gold mines.....big dollar......cabin kitchen
life is a fight....fighting is living
reason farmers farm....they relish the fight
"who would have the tools and strength to chop that wood lol" .... me... I have a 8 cord pile I am working on now actually! @Zyrenn
plus about 5 cut and split....
hahahahahah @ColdBrewedFreedom
sorry, my phone rang
@ColdBrewedFreedom neighbor has hydralic splitter......i still swing a splitter....i enjoy it.....
@ColdBrewedFreedom i tried chopping wood and my aim is horrible
The wood I have, you'd never get through it with a maul... need the splitter!
he thinks i'm nutz....maybe so......
i would definitely die from hypothermia in the winter
gnarly birch and maple... some of the oak would split by hand...
i have the power behind the swing, but my aim is horrible
hell of a lot of work, but when it's 20 below zero out and that stove is cranking it's nice... plus it all come off the property so no real cost to me...
