when they had just set the watch; and they blew the trumpets and smashed the jars that were in their hands. <20> So the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the jars, holding in their left hands the torches, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow; and they cried, "A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!" <21> Every man stood in his place all around the camp, and all the men in camp ran; they cried out and fled. <22> When they blew the three hundred trumpets, the Lord set every man's sword against his fellow and against all the army; and the army fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath. <23> And the men of Israel were called out from Naphtali and from Asher and from all Manasseh, and they pursued after the Midianites. <24> Then Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill country of Ephraim, saying, "Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters against them, as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan." So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they seized the waters as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan. <25> They captured the two captains of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; they killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they killed at the wine press of Zeeb, as they pursued the Midianites. They brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond the Jordan. ```
Gideon is a good example for us today. It doesn't matter how many Midianites or Amalekites are arrayed against us. God is able to use just a few to defeat a great multitude.

<22> As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the lure of wealth choke the word, and it yields nothing. ```

Let's talk about the Sabbath. Is it a day of the week? In the book of Hebrews (presumably written by Paul) this subject is dealt with pretty comprehensively in chapters three and four. He is speaking of Gods rest (or Sabbath). In chapter four verses 9-12 the scripture gives us a look at the true Saba
bath. "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works,as God did from His.
Let us labor, therefore,to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and is a discernerof the thoughts and intents of the heart.
I contend that the Sabbath is a person. The Lord Jesus Christ himself. When you have entered into Christ, you have entered into His rest. Without that you can keep any day you like and it won't make a bit of difference.

Psalm 29
Galatians 5: 1 and 13-16 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage 13-16 For brethren ye have been called unto liberty, only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself". But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh".
@2ncourage Have you heard the song composed from those verses in Galatians?
@Shadetree49 ... I have not... if you have a link, please post it...
Me and links don't compute. My online skills are severely lacking. Just an old man trying to share analogue in the digital age. I can sing it. DM me and I'll give out my phone number if you like.
@Shadetree49 practice makes perfect. even just a google search may be all it takes

<38> and let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, 'Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.'" ```
@imig yes that's the one. One of my favorites, but there are a ton of great songs I've always enjoyed scripture songs. As to practice I've become a slow learner as I've gotten older and somewhat disabled.
i pray you will not be dismayed by burdens and obstacles. by disadvantages
