You will need to go to #rules of the road and if you agree to rules click on the thumbs up and then you need to go into #opt in channels and click on channels you want to open to you

@Polished Arrow is it a desktop and do you have a mic plugged into it? If it is a laptop then it may have built in mic

It is a laptop and has a built in mic, but I also have headphones

@Polished Arrow the reason I ask is when you go into a voice room - at this point your mic is considered "hot"

so you could set up "push to talk" and then if you choose you can use to talk to others in the discord.. which is a nice option

do you see the gear at the bottom of column (to the left of this one) its settings

a hot mic will pic all sounds around you and it can blow others out of the voice rooms with noise
