Can someone explain to me the major and nuanced differences between catholic and orthodox? besides the major obvious differences but rather the major differences people are not readily educated about.
Been thinking of potentially becoming orhtodox the past few years, dont know if I should go down that path because i simply cant seem to fully grasp the differences
islam superior
@Doctor Anon you said my religion condones violence
LOL
@Muhammad Al-Tajir We have a common enemy, let's fight side by side
^^
@Muhammad Al-Tajir They have battled us for too long, it's time to claim the right to self defense.
Now you're contradicting yourself.
@Doctor Anon Bible Bot, Sargeant
@Vilhelmsson tell me something I said that isn't
@Doctor Anon that verse is not about arming the disciples for combat
They didn't use the swords
It's for self defense
It's not
It is
It's literally Jesus telling his disciples to get swords after Passover at the last supper
He rebukes them for thinking about combat
He tells them not to fight back for one instance
No Peter drew his sword and sliced off a Sanhedrin slave's ear after they're there to arrest and Jesus rebuked Peter for it
Read the entirety of Luke 22 and parallel it with Matthew's experience of it where he includes Jesus' reprimandation through the saying: Live by the sword and die by the sword
It isn't a promotion of arming yourself
You can't just cherry pick verses without knowing what happened at Gethsemane

- What's the correct view of the Trinity? Or is the Unitarian view right?
Kind of like the triforce
all have power
Yes
and are equal
Father the Son the Holy Spirit
but they all form to make God
Yes
But isn't God within all of us
It's like the US government
Executive
So does God have a separate conciousness
Legislativr
Whateverative
Subordinationism is best, I think
@Doctor Anon God is tripersonal with an indivisible essence
