so they could maybe take religon as an elective
But you can not deny that the Christian faith is vastly more important to our history as Americans than any other religion
yes
I dont deny its importance just as you dont deny the evil it can do if not taught properly
Yes i agree
Christianity should not be used as a scare tactic
and the acceptance and belief of it should be completely voluntary
But America is culturally Christian and attempts to remove that is an attempt to erase a large portion of our heritage
We should maintain it
The American system is built on a theistic world view
Without God or a God our system falls apart at the seams
It would
I'm not a Christian I just have pretty much all of the same values
That is better than nothing
I knew a guy raised by lesbians. The abuse he suffered was horrifying. I would share the details here, but he made me promise never to tell. It was that bad @Obungus

@everyone 🔖 question of the "day"
People back in the day (1950 after ww2) used to have a full home set fully paid off most of the time with plently of cash to spend, now the population is shrinking and people dont have that anymore. where is all the money going?
I have a house that has no mortgage
House with no mortgage, no money though.
And I can point at the cause for the latter.
The western society has become more capitalistic than it was and the society as a whole (of the world) can be argued to have become more hierarchical than it was except that now it is an economical hierarchy as opposed the feudal hierarchy of the past.
Nevertheless, the average standard of living has also risen compared to past times and consumer goods and services of all kinds (for which we spend money) have become more abundant.
On a side note, the period of time which we compare to our contemporary time is focal to this discussion and it is utterly unclear to which era you're referring to when assuming the facts you stated.
