Fact is, the British and the French already controlled giant empires that Germany had no claims in. Had they decided to keep the peace, Germany would've been their partner! Why do you think Hitler let the 300.000 British escape in Dunkirk? Why do you think it was German protocoll to treat the French with dignity and respect?
