Depends on how much you value private property rights
It is not the corporations. It is the people. There are people who want to regulate speech. Corporations are just a tool.
Well corporations have to meet the demands of the market and ensure their profits
It is not profitable for Google to censor Conservatives.
Well, they aren't omniscient they go with what they *think* is the cultural trend, even if conservativism is dominant, especially on YouTube and in politics
Also it probably seems to the board of directors and such that being 'clean' is a safer bet than not
That is simply untrue. In that leaked video, it was clear that they are being driven by ideology. Moreover, have they not seen a single poll? Most Americans said that they hate political correctness but still they implemented live chat censor ship feature
I think it's incorrect to put ideology as a base motivator, if they do have an ideology which coincides with censorship of whatever form, then it must have a material basis which they benefit from
they aren't an inherent threat they just made themselves one due to their ownership of social media
I find it hard to believe that they don't see polls and current affairs. They can easily analyse their own data and see how many people like political correctness or transgenderism
It may not be able political correctness but keeping content that appeals to a lowest common denominator
To the general population, yeah.
But those who know about alternatives, no issue.
Which is against political correctness. Their average consumer does not want them. Only 9% gen z are progressives.
Like we may not see a "no swearing" rule for example, but we would notice the presence of swearing
Or as I remember
Lol
(ಡωಡ) question is
do we ever have freedom of speech?
What is Gen Z by this metric btw?
Well generation after millennials
Oh I think Freedom of Speech in an absolutist sense is impossible and that some speech must be prioritized over others, however I don't think that's conducive to this conversation
all purchases should come with some agreement for these faggots
After 2002
freedom of speaking what is okay to speak
Like 2002 and after.
I've seen some start at 1998
You could go as far as 2000
And 1996
But I wouldn't go as far as 1998
I don't know what the survey used but neither the population now nor of future wants Google to do this
mid-1990s to the early 2000s
official definition that is official
1997-now
I'm a millennial so idk about Gen Z and stuff, but I know my discord server has a lot of Gen Z communists, with opinions on political correctness all across the spectrum
Alright then.
Period
@Enigmatic★Chromatic Gen Z is statistically the most conservative generation since ww2
Alot of Gen Z's I know that are politically knowledgeable see communism as a Meme.
I don't think Marx would have loved trannies tbh
commies are for cummies
