The difference here is that we don't have any information about anything. FBI says that the bomb worked. The bombs most probably used timers. If he delivered all those boxes himself, what did he set in the timer?

this just has too many coincidences and too many randomly specific targets spread way too far apart to reasonably make sense. the motivation is unclear and even insane people have very specific reasons for their actions

I kinda doubt the FBI is going to release all information they have on an active terrorist investigation

The only thing FBI does not tell is what jeopardises the investigation. I am not sure telling what compounds did the pipe bombs contained would do that.

There's plenty of people who abuse their vehicles to spread propaganda

and having a prominent movie maker's face behind crosshairs kinda does suggest he intended to attack more people in hollywood

but yeah, when an investigation is less than two days old... I don't think the FBI is gonna be terribly willing to release all the information they've got
