Specifically regarding the stage 5

2018-06-17 15:41:34 UTC

"What about survival of a bloodline?" why would someone not care about their bloodline?

2018-06-17 15:41:47 UTC

it seems instinctual and right to care about your immediate tribe the most (family/bloodline)

2018-06-17 15:41:50 UTC

with some exceptions probably

2018-06-17 15:42:12 UTC

It’s very instinctual

2018-06-17 15:42:14 UTC

Slendy, inside of you right now is history itself, literally the genes of thousands of people. They have fought to survive and forward their genes and they essentially live inside of you, when you procreate, you are adding your genes to that, something that will stand the test of time if your descendants follow the basic human instinct: to survive.

2018-06-17 15:42:33 UTC

It’s your legacy essentially

2018-06-17 15:42:59 UTC

Every other trace of you will be erased eventually, but your genes live on

2018-06-17 15:43:04 UTC

Countries like Japan are already facing crisis because of not enough workers. And it's only going to get worse unless they start having more kids.

2018-06-17 15:43:10 UTC

Old:Young ratio will be way too large.

2018-06-17 15:43:10 UTC

^^

2018-06-17 15:43:14 UTC

Exactly

2018-06-17 15:43:28 UTC

By trying to do “population reduction” you’re going to have a disaster

2018-06-17 15:43:44 UTC

Because you need proportional generations being born to support older generations

2018-06-17 15:44:03 UTC

Going up to 9B or 10B is not going to starve the world of energy, resources, food, or space.

2018-06-17 15:44:10 UTC

We have plenty of room to grow a bit more, and technology is beating our rate of growth ATM

2018-06-17 15:44:27 UTC

And no expert says we're going to grow indefinitely if you do research on the matter.

2018-06-17 15:44:30 UTC

What if we just did something useful with the land of third world countries

2018-06-17 15:44:47 UTC

Largescale and intentional reduction may be bad yes, but just me and one other woman deciding not to have children isn't going to hurt the population much and instead will allow us to help already-made children to have a better life than they otherwise would have

2018-06-17 15:45:05 UTC

But Wendy our birth rates are far below what they should be

2018-06-17 15:45:16 UTC

We’re heading towards catastrophe and our race is dying

2018-06-17 15:45:25 UTC

We’re becoming a minority in our own countries

2018-06-17 15:45:46 UTC

so?

2018-06-17 15:45:49 UTC

Most of the people I've been attracted to are people of color so

2018-06-17 15:45:52 UTC

awww poor you

2018-06-17 15:45:58 UTC

But since you have major genetic disorders, I support you not reproducing

2018-06-17 15:46:21 UTC

I don’t think it’s that bad of a genetic disorder

2018-06-17 15:46:23 UTC

I understand if you're gay @shlendie - that's not an easy life. But be careful deciding that having children is a bad idea - in fact, it's one of the most rewarding things you could ever do. And if adopting is your best choice as a gay couple, then you're doing some good there. Better than foster homes.

2018-06-17 15:46:36 UTC

Exactly

2018-06-17 15:46:46 UTC

If you’re worried about reproducing then anything that causes cancer isn’t much of a worry

2018-06-17 15:46:50 UTC

I dont think having children is a bad idea, I personally don't want to but yeah

2018-06-17 15:47:02 UTC

Having almost everyone in your family die of cancer is kinda serious

2018-06-17 15:47:07 UTC

@Logicpoints Im supprised you havent tried that spiel on me?

2018-06-17 15:47:24 UTC

@Josh42A it's never come up?

2018-06-17 15:47:37 UTC

ive talked about it before

2018-06-17 15:47:47 UTC

I have no plans to ever have children

2018-06-17 15:48:01 UTC

why?

2018-06-17 15:48:13 UTC

because its a waste of money

2018-06-17 15:48:26 UTC

That is the most selfish bullshit reason I’ve ever heard

2018-06-17 15:48:28 UTC

ok, if you could remove the monetary stretching and limitations, why?

2018-06-17 15:48:39 UTC

because their gross
