is your theory any more than an assumption?

2018-06-28 18:23:09 UTC

you've yet to provide proof to make it more than an assumption

2018-06-28 18:23:15 UTC

calling it a theory doesn't make it *not* an assumption

2018-06-28 18:23:41 UTC

and youre claims are more rational?

2018-06-28 18:24:04 UTC

good, now that we've established your theory is no more than an assumption

2018-06-28 18:24:13 UTC

my claims are based on something actually observed

2018-06-28 18:24:20 UTC

Can you provide those observations?

2018-06-28 18:24:21 UTC

anti-matter and matter come to cancel each other out

2018-06-28 18:24:21 UTC

Our claims are actually refutes of your statement. You are ament to provide proof, not us. We are giving an alternative to a claim. Burden of Proof dictates that you give us evidence of your claims, and then we refute them, then we can make a counter claim, and you can refute us.

2018-06-28 18:24:38 UTC

"anti-matter cancels matter out, therefore god doesn't exist"

2018-06-28 18:24:40 UTC

You're not making any sense.

2018-06-28 18:24:45 UTC

oh my god

2018-06-28 18:24:50 UTC

youre making more assumptions than me

2018-06-28 18:25:02 UTC

Atleast you admit you're making assumptions.

2018-06-28 18:25:52 UTC

Now that we've squared away that both of our sides are assumptions, my point is that you cannot definitely prove that either side is correct.

2018-06-28 18:25:59 UTC

Therefore, you cannot prove that God *isn't* real.

2018-06-28 18:26:11 UTC

I do not argue that you can prove that he *is*, but currently it cannot be argued that he *isn't.*

2018-06-28 18:30:16 UTC

Both could be concluded as assumptions, because quite frankly there is no way to prove one way or the other. It is an endless argument that has no definitive answer. I myself am a Christian, because I would much rather follow the teachings of the Bible over being a cynical asshole with no morals. However, I won't force my beliefs upon anybody. To each their own.

2018-06-28 18:31:06 UTC

So you're not Evangelical.

2018-06-28 18:31:18 UTC

What branch of Christanity? Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox?

2018-06-28 18:31:34 UTC

Not Orthodox, I *definitely* am not Catholic,

2018-06-28 18:31:41 UTC

Dad is Baptist, Mom is Lutheran

2018-06-28 18:31:44 UTC

I think that makes me Protestant.

2018-06-28 18:31:45 UTC

kek

2018-06-28 18:31:49 UTC

Yep.

2018-06-28 18:31:51 UTC

Definently.

2018-06-28 18:32:02 UTC

Lutheran being the original Protestant denomination,

2018-06-28 18:32:06 UTC

Baptist being one of the largest Protestant denominations.

2018-06-28 18:32:25 UTC

Personally I am not a Christian, I am a Deist. Though I was raised a URC Presbyterian, so I keep a lot of Protestant morals.

2018-06-28 18:32:26 UTC

saddest part is

2018-06-28 18:32:34 UTC

i can count on 1 hand how many times i've been to a church

2018-06-28 18:32:40 UTC

and that includes a funeral

2018-06-28 18:32:44 UTC

What are we debating?

2018-06-28 18:32:50 UTC

No idea

2018-06-28 18:32:54 UTC

other guy said he could prove god doesn't exist

2018-06-28 18:33:00 UTC

our argument was that's impossible to achieve

2018-06-28 18:33:02 UTC

so we challenged him

2018-06-28 18:33:05 UTC

he failed the challenge

2018-06-28 18:33:08 UTC

I can prove that he does exist

2018-06-28 18:33:12 UTC

good

2018-06-28 18:33:17 UTC

Eh, I no longer go to church as the leader of our church left. The church was more of a community centre for our town, it was very friendly and the guy was fucking great.
