and group membership, whether voluntary (party affiliation for example) or involuntary (sex, ethnicity for example) is a great determining factor in how they treat others and how others treat them and how they are thought of on a subconscious level

this is what makes society work - you don't treat everyone the same and make women fight the wars alongside the men
