Before I assign myself a silly label

2018-06-18 03:20:08 UTC

technocratic post-syndicalist 😏

2018-06-18 03:20:15 UTC

Actually?

2018-06-18 03:20:18 UTC

I have nothing against that

2018-06-18 03:20:20 UTC

It just sounds interesting

2018-06-18 03:20:28 UTC

Yea

2018-06-18 03:20:30 UTC

Cool

2018-06-18 03:20:38 UTC

Well since you are a fellow labelfag

2018-06-18 03:20:42 UTC

I am a libertarian marxist

2018-06-18 03:21:14 UTC

Veblen's work on Leisure Class, Business Enterprise and Soviet Engineers -> as well as syndicalist works of Sorel and Rocker

2018-06-18 03:21:21 UTC

Libertarian Marxism? Like autonomists?

2018-06-18 03:21:25 UTC

Pretty much

2018-06-18 03:21:49 UTC

I've been meaning to read some Negri but I haven't had the time :/

2018-06-18 03:21:55 UTC

Libertarian Marxists are cool

2018-06-18 03:22:19 UTC

Can't say I've read any of the big marxist theorists aside from Marx himself yet

2018-06-18 03:22:38 UTC

I'm reading a lot of philosophy shit rn in the western canon and eventually I'll start reading Marxist theory

2018-06-18 03:22:51 UTC

Beyond Marx, I mean

2018-06-18 03:23:08 UTC

I'm quite familiar with Marx himself and secondary sources about him and others

2018-06-18 03:23:09 UTC

ah, I don't really like non-political philosophy, it's hard to conceptualize it vis a vis concrete existence.

2018-06-18 03:23:24 UTC

Not saying it's bad - just that it's rather hard for me personally to understand

2018-06-18 03:23:27 UTC

Yeah political philosophy is my specialty

2018-06-18 03:23:43 UTC

oh so you mean like liberals by western cannon?

2018-06-18 03:23:43 UTC

But I also have an interest in general philosophy- tends to help reaffirm the political ideas

2018-06-18 03:23:49 UTC

Huh?

2018-06-18 03:23:55 UTC

Oh no no

2018-06-18 03:24:04 UTC

When I said philosophy I did mean general philosophy

2018-06-18 03:24:10 UTC

kk

2018-06-18 03:24:12 UTC

I'm just also saying that I prefer political philosophy

2018-06-18 03:24:25 UTC

yea sorry was just a bit confused

2018-06-18 03:24:31 UTC

understood

2018-06-18 03:25:41 UTC

But ye I think that Marx and post-Marx commuinist movements have various issues that prevent me from identifying with them

2018-06-18 03:25:50 UTC

Completely understand that

2018-06-18 03:27:11 UTC

Marx himself certainly has a host of issues. I still choose to refer to myself as a marxist because I believe his distinct core ideas for theory and praxis still hold up

2018-06-18 03:28:24 UTC

I used to consider myself an anarchist, then I read about the conflict between Bakunin and Marx, actually learned about Marxism, and was totally convinced. But Marxism certainly has its flaws, and in general I try to just refer to myself as "socialist" or "communist" for ease's sake

2018-06-18 03:28:31 UTC

@IskraPhoenix What exactly is "post-syndicalism"?

2018-06-18 03:32:41 UTC

I take the lesser known syndicalist theories like organic culture, revolutionary will, direct action, antiparliamentarism but don't uphold the main tenet which is viewing trade unions as the revolutionary subject

2018-06-18 03:36:23 UTC

Which is an issue I have with marxist thought as well; proletarians as the sole revolutionary subject seems rather incorrect to me.

2018-06-18 03:41:07 UTC

@IskraPhoenix What other groups do you think constitute the "revolutionary subject"?

2018-06-18 03:41:41 UTC

Revolutionary for what

2018-06-18 03:41:50 UTC

Like what type of revolution

2018-06-18 03:41:52 UTC

@tsarsNeezy you should be temp leader
