31

2018-09-08 22:49:24 UTC

turn 32 in late oct

2018-09-08 22:49:31 UTC

"what's interesting is, back then being liberal was the countercultural position. that's flipped now"

yep, I've met a lot of people like you here in NYC

2018-09-08 22:49:49 UTC

who mentioned how they were comfortable with the left back then

2018-09-08 22:49:52 UTC

but not now

2018-09-08 22:50:11 UTC

i grew up in a generally conservative area a little upstate. then went to college in CA, and it really made me rethink things

2018-09-08 22:50:27 UTC

i still voted for obama in 08, but became a skeptic in the liberal worldview before 2012

2018-09-08 22:51:00 UTC

probably around 2010 i think

2018-09-08 22:51:19 UTC

@thr33 I've never been a liberal

2018-09-08 22:51:20 UTC

i'm an independent still, but i can't see myself voting for another dem. they're so bad on immigration now

2018-09-08 22:51:26 UTC

I've only become more radical

2018-09-08 22:52:30 UTC

i'm more moderate on econ (skeptical of the welfare state/high taxes, but not 100% for the free market/trade; i think govt intervention is ok), but i think a lot of liberal positions across the board don't stand up to scrutiny

2018-09-08 22:53:14 UTC

it's absolutely insane watching these scotus confirmation hearings

2018-09-08 22:53:32 UTC

Went from religious conservative when I was a kid to centrist to libertarian to classical liberal to alt-right to paleocon to theocrat

2018-09-08 22:53:33 UTC

Economics to me is whatever helps the nation, that's all there is too it. Pragmatic outlook on it

2018-09-08 22:53:40 UTC

So in essence, I did a bit of a loop

2018-09-08 22:53:55 UTC

You do know "alt-right" was a fed-media psy-op meant to demoralize people?

2018-09-08 22:54:13 UTC

it was a different time

2018-09-08 22:54:19 UTC

i'm not religious, but i've changed a bit. i was a militant atheist in my teens, now i'm an agnostic, but i'm pro judeo-christian values and their importance in founding the west

2018-09-08 22:54:19 UTC

At first it was anyone on the "right" that was "non-neocon"

2018-09-08 22:54:39 UTC

the right to me was always synonymous with the religious right and neocons. at some point that changed

2018-09-08 22:54:45 UTC

i think it was palin/the tea party

2018-09-08 22:54:46 UTC

and I'm not in that anymore

2018-09-08 22:54:53 UTC

Then the media cleverly crafted and psychologically conditioned it with the aid of the fed-honeypot men that headed "Alt-Right" things plus the fake break up with the "Alt-lite" yea

2018-09-08 22:55:16 UTC

i had never heard of the alt-right in any serious way before that retarded speech clinton made about pepe and shit

2018-09-08 22:55:23 UTC

i mean the term alt-right

2018-09-08 22:55:26 UTC

it was an irony thing

2018-09-08 22:55:26 UTC

"Went from religious conservative when I was a kid to centrist to libertarian to classical liberal to alt-right to paleocon to theocrat"

a theocrat?

2018-09-08 22:55:46 UTC

Theocrat, by that he probably means Clerical Fascist

2018-09-08 22:55:50 UTC

basically /pol/-tard stuff, bit younger and more impressionable

2018-09-08 22:55:57 UTC

something like that

2018-09-08 22:56:05 UTC

were any of you guys ron paul fans?

2018-09-08 22:56:08 UTC

publicly still paleocon and all

2018-09-08 22:56:10 UTC

have you read Codreanu?

2018-09-08 22:56:20 UTC

i wasn't a supporter but i thought he had legit grievances

2018-09-08 22:56:37 UTC

@thr33 I'm not a Libertarian, but he said some good stuff

2018-09-08 22:56:38 UTC

I've read a few pages of For My Legionaries but I've been busy

2018-09-08 22:56:49 UTC

Ron Paul is one of the only good libertarians

2018-09-08 22:56:59 UTC

Good book from what I've read

2018-09-08 22:57:11 UTC

my main issue with most libertarians is they're pro-open borders

2018-09-08 22:57:21 UTC

rand is actually surprisingly good on the issue
