that guy was a regular on the RuneScape board back in 2006

2018-02-02 23:58:38 UTC

jesus

2018-02-02 23:59:00 UTC

imagine spending over a decade of your life regularly posting on Gamefags

2018-02-02 23:59:30 UTC

I never really spent too much time on game forums, not political discussion at least

2018-02-02 23:59:49 UTC

I never was too political until 3-4 years ago

2018-02-02 23:59:51 UTC

what's funny is that I forgot pretty much every username from my gamefaqs days, so now that I'm currently browsing through it again, some of them are triggering flashbacks

2018-02-03 00:00:00 UTC

what made you more political ?

2018-02-03 00:00:04 UTC

The climate

2018-02-03 00:00:17 UTC

looking around, making realizations

2018-02-03 00:00:38 UTC

I had read orwell right before going into high school and that really got me thinking

2018-02-03 00:01:43 UTC

I saw all these surveillance systems and a lot of fucked up shit around and I got to thinking about a lot of things

2018-02-03 00:02:29 UTC

I was vaguely right wing beforehand, but not really politically literate, just a teenager who played a lot of games like normal

2018-02-03 00:03:17 UTC

Established humor got more boring, movies got more boring, really celebrity culture made me really become apathetic.

2018-02-03 00:03:28 UTC

This was around 2015-ish

2018-02-03 00:04:25 UTC

I look at the sjw owned shit and I was really more egalitarian and the such

2018-02-03 00:04:54 UTC

Then Trump comes around, and I see this guy who's interesting, more interesting than the movies, more interesting than video games, he really was something

2018-02-03 00:05:50 UTC

I didn't like him too much at first, I was more of a normie and kinda looked at everything like most other people "he's a joke" etc

2018-02-03 00:06:15 UTC

The more I payed attention though, the more this guy began to amaze me.

2018-02-03 00:08:21 UTC

I saw a guy who talked brashly but honestly, a guy with his own businesses and couldn't be bought by pacs. I saw something admirable in that.

2018-02-03 00:09:18 UTC

I found /pol/ early 2016, and that really got me into politics, I came to realize everything that was going on around me, the corruption, civilization falling apart at the seams, that sort of shit

2018-02-03 00:12:41 UTC

I really got into the election, rode the wave to the election, got very deep into reading about a lot of stuff, and now I'm here.

2018-02-03 00:15:58 UTC

That's a great backstory, I wonder how many other people your age share a similar path

2018-02-03 00:16:11 UTC

a fair few I'd bet

2018-02-03 00:17:22 UTC

I don't really know, there's not really a way to tell for sure until the demographic becomes a pollable part of the electorate

2018-02-03 00:17:40 UTC

I hope the gen z memes are true though

2018-02-03 00:17:49 UTC

what are the attitudes of the people you know IRL towards politics

2018-02-03 00:18:12 UTC

my family really got into the election, especially my father

2018-02-03 00:18:37 UTC

we were sorta conservative but my parents didn't vote at all

2018-02-03 00:19:02 UTC

then this election season happens and my dad really got into it

2018-02-03 00:19:33 UTC

he left cuba decades ago, but seeing stuff like Obama shake Raul Castro's hand really set him off

2018-02-03 00:20:18 UTC

i got into the election because of the relentless wave of foreigners here in CA

2018-02-03 00:21:14 UTC

yeah for a lot of people that redpills you like something else

2018-02-03 00:22:42 UTC

I never got into spanish or anything like that, my dad lived in michigan for a long time so he adapted, matter of fact his grandfather actually went to university in massachusetts if I remember

2018-02-03 00:23:36 UTC

my mother didn't get into that as much but she warmed up to him and voted for him eventually

2018-02-03 00:23:42 UTC

@🎃Boo-ton🎃 Was your elementary /middle / high school mostly nonwhite ?

2018-02-03 00:24:34 UTC

like 10% white

2018-02-03 00:25:17 UTC

yeah for a little bit you're colorblind and eventually that delusion just breaks

2018-02-03 00:26:28 UTC

I realized quickly those last few years the self-segregation and group behaviors, all that. kids who spoke spanish in school with their friends kinda pissed me off

2018-02-03 00:28:50 UTC

the blacks were blacks and it seemed they could get away with anything

2018-02-03 00:29:18 UTC

that sort of shit just pushes you

2018-02-03 00:32:03 UTC

I really looked no different from other whites at all, talked the same, everyone goes within the same group of people and it clicked with me that all that shit about 'diversity' was a huge lie.
