Yes it is an observation. Its not an experiment because earths rotation is meant to be common knowledge, no one is going to spend resources getting data to prove it

You are trying to convince me of measuring tiny bits of light inside a box run with software proved the curve

It proved rotation because this would not have occured if earth was flat
