Read the actual page you took that quote from.
ur trying to say what they are doing is invalid with bad defintions
just because of your lack of the math doesn't invalidate it
No, I'm saying it's inconclusive, since only one or two points are used.
it works with trig
you miss that red rhetoric was the one doing the math for the globe
they took his math and modified it for flat earth
its not even their math, its red rhetorics math
if you don't think it was done right, take it up with red
Yes. They also completely missed the whole point of Red's video.
he's a globe believer
I think u missed the point
doctor, he never actually reads the things he quotes
I watched the videos
he assumes he is right, and uses that to ignore everything else
the basic geometry on day 1 teaches taht you tkae 2 points to draw a line
3 points to define a plane
Red's video was in response to one by Jeranism. In that video, Jeran claimed that the distance and size of the Sun were randomly chosen, and that the only way you could determine the actual distance was by guessing, since scale invariance makes it impossible to tell between a small, close thing and a distant, large thing. Red corrected him by explaining the trigonometry used to calculate the distance to the sun. It had nothing to do with proving the shape of the Earth, it was simply to correct him on his methods.
4 points to definite 3 dimensions
when your dealing with trig they move way beyond that
they are dealing with apparent size
did you watch the video?
Yes. Apparent size is scale invariant, you can't tell just by looking whether it's near or far.
That was the point of the first video, and Jeranism's video that Red was responding to.
Red corrected Jeranism in that you can use other methods besides eye-balling to determine distance.
Then Globebusters responded to Red's video, missing the point completely, accusing Red of assuming the Earth is a globe, when all he was doing was correcting Jeran on his methods.
I've watched people do the math
I must agree with the18thdoctor
those videos are highly irrational
gotta work on that trig
using pythagorean theorem they calculate the distance of the sun at 93,000,000 miles away
but they assume we live on a curve to get that distance
and as soon as you flatten that curve, it changes to 3,400 miles away for the sun
no?
so your assuming you live on a ball, and based on that assumption you can calculate the sun's distance
I've watched people do it
that's not how it's done
that is exactly how it is done
you assume the curve, say its 93,000,000 away, and then that proves the globe
well, that doesn't prove diddly
