look for anything you think is interesting

might not be on any tour guides, or well known but there's interesting stuff across the state

as for avoiding places, portland offers little outside of strip clubs, meth, and staged protests

You have wine country outside of Portland, and down in southern Oregon. Have a beautiful coastline. Breweries all over...

Biggest issue for you, will be what is, and isnt yet open. All state parks and campgrounds have/had been closed, and not sure exactly the plan for reopen

Yeah I've planned for that, federal land is still open for dispersed camping. And I'm well equipped for that

Lots of nice areas in the SE, and then Central mountains around Bend...

hell yeah mt hood offers some nice area as well!
