2020-05-06 20:01:35 UTC

So back to the fact that it's purely due to poor assembly rather than poor quality materials, correct?

2020-05-06 20:12:13 UTC

Bad quality control.

2020-05-06 20:12:37 UTC

Sure, mil-spec is mil-spec, but how well do companies maintain that standard?

2020-05-06 20:12:47 UTC

For PSA and BCA, they don’t do it nearly as well.

2020-05-06 20:12:52 UTC

You’re not paying for a name.

2020-05-06 20:13:03 UTC

You’re paying for better, tighter tolerances.

2020-05-06 20:13:56 UTC

Things like checking every single part instead of batch checking (checking one of every batch)

2020-05-06 20:14:12 UTC

Deburring the milling heads on the machines to keep them more precise.

2020-05-06 20:14:35 UTC

All of that plays a factor.

2020-05-06 20:17:50 UTC

AIM BCGs worth a damn?

2020-05-06 20:17:52 UTC

But what about using just stripped PSA parts abd using Higher end internals, like we used to do with sleeper drag cars?

2020-05-06 20:18:37 UTC

I would not do that.

2020-05-06 20:18:46 UTC

Again, even lower receivers can have specification problems.

2020-05-06 20:19:04 UTC

Metallurgy isn’t that big of a deal but it can still apply.

2020-05-06 20:19:50 UTC

Got. Ya, makes sense.

2020-05-06 20:20:25 UTC

I'm sure a PSA barrel would be perfectly fine, as they are hard steel blanks that they finish out.

Doing my first build, i have a mossberg right now.

2020-05-06 20:20:42 UTC

That the bolt you were asking about?

Dont know trying to decide. Reading up right now, probably looking to drop at most around 1k basic.

2020-05-06 20:22:47 UTC

Colt is a good brand

@sampson

@Lucky Texan

2020-05-06 20:23:19 UTC

For that price @sampson unless you're really intent on building one yourself, from my experience an M&P15 would probably fit. Might not be "battle ready" but you'll be able to learn the rifle and modify what you need to modify and swap weak points etc etc.

2020-05-06 20:24:32 UTC

Well i owned an M&P and i hated it, bought my mossberg for that reason and have been happy since, but im strictly building one this time

2020-05-06 20:24:46 UTC

@Soulraiser You can build a good rifle for $1,000.

2020-05-06 20:24:56 UTC

Also I saw spartan armor, anyone have any suggestions?

2020-05-06 20:24:58 UTC

M&P is good to go in my experience, my sport 2 beater is going on 6k of sterl

2020-05-06 20:25:00 UTC

Steel

2020-05-06 20:25:06 UTC

Hence why I said unless you're intent on building one.

2020-05-06 20:25:23 UTC

@LoudPillsmy M&P constantly had problems. But then again you can always get an lemon.

I also have experience with holosun on my sport 2, also really good for the price.
