I originally bought the magpuls for my cheap starter rifle, and I don't care for them, mostly because my old eyes won't focus correctly.

Volley sights or nothing...

2020-05-18 23:51:34 UTC

I’m just saying at least get mbus sights before a vortex

2020-05-18 23:55:25 UTC

Irons are gay tbh

2020-05-18 23:55:34 UTC

And stand alone backups are outdated

2020-05-18 23:55:41 UTC

Psych

2020-05-18 23:56:02 UTC

Not when you’ve got a vortex crossfire that’ll break when you look at it funny

2020-05-18 23:56:16 UTC

If you’re on a flat range go ahead ig

2020-05-19 00:00:31 UTC

I remember him advocating for fixed front sight posts I think

2020-05-19 00:02:13 UTC

My thought is, I've never had an optic fail on me, though most of them have been duty grade, but it's better to have a backup and know that it will hold zero than to not have it and have some wacky shit happen to your sight because the stars aligned.

2020-05-19 00:03:35 UTC

Yeah he personally uses fixed front sight.

2020-05-19 00:04:29 UTC

I guess if your optic goes down, it's one less thing to worry about. Just flip up your back sight and go

2020-05-19 00:06:15 UTC

Well use quality optics, and have other methods to aim your rifle, and then integrate backups into your other stuff

2020-05-19 00:07:59 UTC

Have an acog on an offset mount with an rmr on top of it in case your main acog with rmr goes down

2020-05-19 00:08:14 UTC

If everyone decided to stop being poor, we wouldn't have to even discuss it.

2020-05-19 00:08:53 UTC

Just stop being poor *is* the answer

2020-05-19 00:09:03 UTC

By the time you get to your enemy, your arms will be so big that they'll just get scared and run away

2020-05-19 00:12:31 UTC

Some day I want to make enough money to afford nods and a laser, then probably never shoot it because ranges are only open at night for special events

2020-05-19 00:16:56 UTC

Having land or knowing someone with land helps a lot.

2020-05-19 00:24:53 UTC

I shoot under NODs the most with suppressed .22’s and crossbows, so I don’t piss of the neighbors

2020-05-19 00:27:58 UTC

For people who actually shoot stuff for a living, do you reindex mags or use something like a dump pouch?

2020-05-19 00:29:09 UTC

I've heard people say reindexing is bad, so I was curious

2020-05-19 00:31:10 UTC

Depends on the mission set

2020-05-19 00:31:58 UTC

Some places it’s a big no-no to leave mags behind, and I would never leave one in an overwatch position or hide. But FISH’n I drop them a lot

2020-05-19 00:34:49 UTC

I was considering something like the trex arms dump pouch to throw mags into so I wouldn't have to drop them. I don't really have an endless supply after all

2020-05-19 00:35:50 UTC

er maybe blueforce gear to avoid giving the tactical twink any money

2020-05-19 00:50:51 UTC

I’ve got some roll up SSE bags, I don’t remember from who. Pockets are a real thing too

2020-05-19 00:51:05 UTC

Some of my rifles I just run irons on them and some i have optics and backup irons just incase my optic get damaged. My Vz58 is just plain irons and i have spent so much time with that rifle that even out to 400 500 yards i can put rounds on target

2020-05-19 00:51:46 UTC

It took me a while to get used to optics because I spent my entire childhood on irons, but once I finally did, I was much faster with optics

2020-05-19 00:52:54 UTC

I agree a good optic sight beats irons but if you are capable enough with irons that's not a problem in a way and it's one less thing to worry about

2020-05-19 00:53:43 UTC

Okay except, there are things you can do with dots and lpvo’s that you can not do with irons. Fact. Optics give you capabilities that irons do not.

2020-05-19 00:53:55 UTC

Yep I agre

2020-05-19 00:54:28 UTC

I need more practice time with lpvo's. I love red dots because I don't have to worry about my head being in the right spot to avoid scope shadow. Thankfully my accupoint has an extremely generous eye relief

2020-05-19 00:55:04 UTC

really too generous in some ways. I got in the habit of going nose to charging handle but you can't see through an accupoint if you do that

2020-05-19 00:55:14 UTC

But of you suck with irons and say that fancy optic has broken or suffered some sort of failure you can be up shits creek if facing off against people who are excellent shooters with just irons

2020-05-19 00:55:39 UTC

My philosophy is always have a back up for anything

2020-05-19 00:56:20 UTC

Lmfao I love the spoon

2020-05-19 01:00:30 UTC

> But of you suck with irons and say that fancy optic has broken or suffered some sort of failure you can be up shits creek if facing off against people who are excellent shooters with just irons
@BugsyBaldwin things that are not real - that
Irons break too.
