I didn't want to clutter it. It's more directed towards people who think they're gonna kit out all the time, and certainly doesn't have everything I carry, or what someone else should carry.
In facebook, I had a more detailed post about how mission drives gear, this is first line, and most people's mission is to get home alive.
I think that is something good for now, people don't have FLIR stuff and don't want to stick out with hawaiian
Second line would be PC and rifle + other stuff
It's simple but effective imo
Intentionally simple
Also working on a meme one
To be fair, that is significantly less stuff than my everyday carry, but I’m very on board with the plainclothes offensive pistol man
It's pretty much my edc minus wallet, phone, keys, knife, trauma shears, pen, and occasionally some other stuff
My view on the whole grey man versus tactical argument is both are valid things but only function in certain settings. If I knew i was walking into a potential fight I'd go tactical. If I'm just trying to get from A to B and not expecting a fight and not wanting to draw attention while doing it then its grey man
And in SHTF people look for soft targets and is you look like any old joe you will get attacked even if in a small group. Now take that same small group but deck them out in full kit and rifles they would have a lesser chance of being attacked by opportunistic criminals or raiders
mission drives gear after all. Most of the time, tactical stuff puts you in more danger, but if you know you're probably going to be shot at on sight anyway, then kitting up is a good plan
My experience is people are generally pussies and if you look scary enough they will avoid you
Noticed it when attending rallies in full kit. The counter protesters would be acting violent and attacking people unlit 5 or 6 guys in kit square off with them then the get all pacifist and non violent meanwhile 5 minutes before they were striking people and throwing shit

@BugsyBaldwin NGL Chief That is just super duper fucking wrong
Depends, it's more of a horseshoe scale
imo
If you think your appearance is scary to anyone worth scaring, please go read that book.
Eventually on any extreme you'll find people more willing to take their chances and fight
Shut up and read some book nerds, it’s like 5 bucks.

@Fabultishere That’s not the point. Exposing your capabilities makes you less lethal.
True, being unexpected is important
Although that is also saying water is wet
Concealed plate carriers for the win.
Depending on the scenario, exposing your capabilities makes you a target. If you're out on recon, or grabbing milk at the store, you don't want to stand out. If you're making a show of force with 30 others, then throwing your second line gear on top and standing out will make you more effective.
Up here in Minnesota winter nobody would have any clue you got a plate carrier on, even if you went overt instead of covert
I can't find a torrent of that book ☹️
“The more you project about your intentions or capabilities, the more you present them with the ultimatum of taking you down decisively in ambush or facing loss themselves. What if your overt projections of strength deterred 10 low-level fights that you could have probably won, only to give the advantage to the one high-level attacker that takes you down for good?”
- That book ^
Reminds of highschool with the gangs.
Except it’s about shooting people directly in the back of the head
Makes sense. Being the psycho that people were worried was gonna shoot up the place worked back then. Not so much the real world.
Yup. That’s what he’s trying to say. If you look tough, they won’t give you a chance to fight back. The police apply the same thought process
A couple of people on fb are going "so look like an oFf DuTy CoP" so I'm making one specially for them
because apparently only off duty cops wear polo shirts
Vertex polos are kinda on that line, depending on your AO. construction company hoodies or similar are what I like to rock.
I just happen to work in an office for a more industrial company so I have to wear a polo
My buddy was the derpy happy go lucky pothead, nobody knew he was packing a revolver lol. That's the way to be.
Yup
The enemy should have no idea what your capabilies are until you employ them, or after
