you do not know as much as me about any of this
To show the development of the theme in a sense
Minimalized to show the process of grief
What remains after the wind blows away the stubble of autumn
That's on Requiem - Fortissimo, the death metal album
the singer needs to stop sliding his voice around
if you autotune this guy this would be great
But the same motif is on Mezzo Forte however
He's a classically trained tenor afaik
I have a good ear for this
I privately think a bass-baritone would be more appropriate but I think he's a great singer
maybe he is doing it on purpose
likely he is
I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying it's pointless to start a battle about everything
like fuck does every internet conversation have to be war
do you or any other people in this chat have any idea how much you could learn from me, and how much it would directly and indirectly benefit your life, if you actually heard me out for a change?
in the last 15 minutes I have told you enough to permanently improve your whole family's financial future
I am so generous with you people
Actually most of the albums seem to concern misery, suffering and its culmination into the dark night of the soul, with glimpses of the light of God shining through the rusted armour of the faith
It's very hopeful music in spite of being crushing
one thing I like about the virgin black guy's voice is his vibrato is high frequency
although considering the pace of these songs he could probably use slower vibrato and add to the heaviness of the song, but then it would blend too much with the guitars
but on that basis I think he has a quite agile voice he is itching to show off
Perhaps he sings a bit much toward his strengths
Yeah
When I saw them live as an opener for Opeth (they're much better than Opeth) people were yelling stuff like AYY PLAY SOME METAL YA FUCKEN SOFTCOCK
you know I had a voice teacher who unironically thought vibrato was pitch change?
.
that comes across like riding a bike without a tube
the mechanics are just all wrong
she actually thought vibrato in voice had an interval
yeah, I was blown away
that was pretty much when I stopped ever taking music lessons for anything ever
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AcDyDaFhCI liking this a lot
yeah he bottoms out his voice in this track, he really has a "bitchy" voice to be singing this kind of music but it works
I feel like an additional classical voice would really improve this, something more dramatic than his, but I can't decide if a baritone or a real dramatic alto would be better
kinda leaning towards alto because that would really remove it from the manlybaconbeard category, but having no women would avoid a lot of pitfalls of its own
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reOLeLX0Q9U through this song there is a real low bass with a german sounding voice, I feel like a guy like that harmonizing with the lead would be good for Virgin Black
incidentally i think the guitarist is a woman
and i think there's a session female vocalist
