bassist is a fag
I want to replace him
there are so few truly good bassists
it seems like there are bassists who are only playing it because they were friends with the band and so they taught him to play the roots
then there are bassists who wank hard about how bassist they are, never use picks, always be sweep picking
always be nodding
I hate this act
you know the joke aboud keyboradists that tommy emmaunel used to talk
completely worthless
absolutely fake
carter beauford is a great drummer
actually everyone on that stage is an excellent instrumentalist
the bassist though
he is one of the wanker bassists
I found a video of him playing a solo and he is good at playing the instrument but has no soul in it
he isn't expressing anything, just machine gunning notes
not unlike a lot of metal
3 minutes into a 4 minute clip he starts actually playing music and it isn't much
and only does it for like 30 seconds
Since we are at hippy music
as well as 1:16:00
better than dave matthews band at least
this is some truly weird shit
I like it
you can check out proper studio recoding on youtube, they kinda add to the psychedelia
bands like this are great live
really trippy weird shit
I do not like normal shit
I expect a band to be great live yet not have the focus be the band
that is why I hate people playing little "solos" that are basically just wanking
to me the point of music is mood, an internal feeling in the listener
anything that breaks that, makes them focus on things too concrete or on any of the band people, that is gay
needs to put you in a state of trance, hypnosis
to me music is not "let's see what these guys do," it should be them saying "let's see what we can make these people feel"
which is why 90% of the time i prefer listening to music on my computer
because live performances are simply sub-standard
a truly good live performance is very rare
even truly instrumentally/vocally good is rare, much less having all the other mood shit on top of it
i liked this one, but the guy behind this act, Simon Posford, says it's incredibly hard to organize them which is why he only did it twice
