to me music is not "let's see what these guys do," it should be them saying "let's see what we can make these people feel"

because live performances are simply sub-standard

a truly good live performance is very rare

even truly instrumentally/vocally good is rare, much less having all the other mood shit on top of it

i liked this one, but the guy behind this act, Simon Posford, says it's incredibly hard to organize them which is why he only did it twice

and in the age of MP3 and EDM festival there is no incentive to make it

rest of the time he simply DJ's his albums

this is why despite being a multiinstrumentalist I am going to make primarily digital music

so it can be about the music and not what a coolguy I am

well, electronic sometimes just kicks ass

analog monophonic basses can sound really full, even software emulated ones

I am going to primarily shoot for normal band instrument sounds

but yeah

it's really important to avoid digital sounding (in a negative sense) instruments like plague

I am basically thinking voice, clean guitar, piano, crunchy guitar, drums

you can record everything into your daw over interface by yourself

without using software instruments

well, except acoustic piano, the technique of recording it is tad bit more complicated to get the right sound

if you have an upright piano you can forget about it, and use software piano instead

with a better singer I'd rate their sound 10/10

lyrical content is okay at best but their sound is excellent
