Some teachings, like all other things, are good. Some are bad. Some are a bit of both

the current form of Sikhism is relatively new, it used to be less doctrinaire, more internally diverse

there is a big issue with one of their 5 "K"s , Kesh, or unshorn hair

in that many baptized sikhs living in the west find they cannot keep unshorn beards due to societal pressure both from within their ingroup (females) and without

despite being supposedly casteless, with the 10th guru mandating that Sikhs discard their clan (gotra, caste) names in favour of "Singh" (Lion) and "Kaur" (Princess) for male and female respectively; most keep their caste names

and intermarry only with the same or equivalent castes

so dalit or otherwise lower born Sikhs are marginalized, even in temples etc.
