It's why I can't get behind the whole Strong men -> good times -> weak men -> Hard times cycle. If the strong men were worth a damn at all, they'd just kill everyone so that the weak men would never arise again. Or they'd make all times Hard Times so that they could never arise again. Either you have to make everything suck forever, or you have to exterminate all life.
