this is a country of 600k people
in even such a small place
we have at least thousands of people who are consdiered super-duper "qualified"
i can scan their entire life and find nothing exceptional
not only in material matters
but their life isn't enjoyable at all thanks to their qualifications, nor do they produce anything
they are just another guy with a job to do for somebody else
it's better not to invest yourself in these matters, and even if you do something merely to get paid, at least you remain detached
for let's face it, the only really and in it's substance dignified and enjoyable work is the one that nobody gives you a paycheck for
yes
in today's world adult working life means being deprived of all dignity, personal agency or self expression in even the slightest matters
I am starting to hate the shit out of psychiatry
they talk as if depression is a brain disorder, not a natural reaction to the world as it presents itself
"it's a brain disorder where you don't have enough serotonin lol"
do you live in a big city
horrible experience of life with no hope for the future->fucking magnets->magical decrease in serotonin->pill fixes it
yes
a hive
yuck
dalit hive
well yeah you live on the scale people were meant to live
we are moving right now and we have to be home so dalits can come into our place and look at it
yeah. it feels that way. I have plans to move back to a city in a year or two but I'm trying to slither out of it. after a year of walking to work I can't imagine getting in a car and joining the freeway of ants
it's funny how a long commute --> magnets --> no seratonin
yes
hellish life->???->omg brain chemicals 😦
maybe, just maybe, we are people and this is an unacceptable way to live
just a thought I guess
a person I work with has been out of the office for two days at a critical time
due to an asthma attack
which would normally not bother me except that knowing he has asthma really makes his thrice daily smoke breaks look pretty fucking stupid
How do you cope
Or is it not an issue?
The only people hurt by my job are the corporate structure of power companies
who have a state-granted monopoly on a service area
I see. Does it not introduce a large amount of bureaucratic inefficiency
Leading to effects ar the bottom
I.e. workforce of those power companies?
They need to by federal law
