My parents have been together since my mom was 18, both have hobbies divorced from each other.

It can work if you don't make it to be selfish.

I don't mean she has to like everything you like. I'm just saying you ought to be have some common ground. What if she's really left wing. What if she chews her food obnoxiously. What if she hates whatever food you like. What if she wants to live in a shitty pink victorian style house.

That's very true. And I only have my family's say as an example, and I noticed it makes me very apprehensive about dating in general.

I don't know the full aspects of my parents' relationship other than DA and MA mode.

So maybe they've their own issues they work through. Or worked through.

But then again, none of this really affects me. I just turned 19. I'm starting school soon.
