i don't see how this will positively impact americans
if anything, it sounds like a buffer to assuage the interests of the poor while they're slowly replaced with automation
Is that a bad thing
it is when the middle class is still being depleted
incoherent waffle
so far 50% of the 20 manufacturers I emailed responded within 24 hours, and 80% of them sent me fairly reasonable emails
so I figure at this point it comes down to sample and quotes
see who can help Muh Margin the most
@fallot this essay was too long for my lunch walk but I will finish it then talk about it soon
alright
@Deleted User 57835c2c what are you doing about the possibility of being cheated?
I'm cumming into butt
I mean coming into butte
Montana
Butte is neat
it has the world's biggest open pit full of mining sludge
👌
@fallot taking measures
one measure is paying only 30% up front
another is the fact that a lot of this is off of Global Sources, which has higher standards than a joint like alibaba
of course
alright, good luck
I know what morlocks are about
it may be worth their while to cheat you out of 30% is what I was thinking
so currently what I am selling will be for a goal price of $30, I can get them manufactured for like $6.50/unit so far
well the places I'm going through are brokers almost, they have a sort of insurance against that kind of thing
so in theory if that happened I would have recourse
so $6.50 per unit to the port... then probably another 0.6-1 for shipping... so about $7-8 to get my $30 product from China to the shipping warehouse
so hopefully I get a fat margin off this
what's the shipping cost from warehouse to customer
from warehouse to customer, I'm not sure but it's incorporated in amazon costs. I think that ends up being like another $7
I have to review my calculations but it's like... (price) - (shipping + amazon fees + ads) = margin. In my case that looks something like $30-(7+7+1)=$15
probably will end up more like $10 when all is said and done, stuff has a way of adding up, but making $10 on something that sells 1000 units a month is fine by me
it doesn't even have to be perfect, because I'm going to turn around and start another product as immediately as possible and repeat until ballin'
repeat until ballin' lol
literally is that
if it makes remotely that much money then I will buy more software tools to help me do this with less effort, thus be able to scale it up more easily
like crap that will calculate reorders for me
so my profit will momentarily go down due to the new expense, but then double as I add more products that I can now responsibly manage
one time, in my errant youth, I grew magic mushrooms
