I unironically wish the South would've won. I think slavery would've been abolished in a less extreme way, and it might actually have reduced the harm caused because of share cropping, poverty, etc.
That was a real, identifiable turning point in American politics.
Confederation is a term that has nothing to do with slavery and if the South won I'd have no idea what the world would look like.
