2018-10-09 23:30:55 UTC

What I meant in a small republic

2018-10-09 23:31:07 UTC

Is at the time of the Federalist paper

2018-10-09 23:31:19 UTC

Concerning the UK

2018-10-09 23:31:22 UTC

I’m pretty sure

2018-10-09 23:32:00 UTC

Plus UK is wack, it can be anything it wants depending on how many Muslims take over

2018-10-09 23:32:06 UTC

@PainSeeker5 that's true although he does use a greater number of citizens choosing representatives as a reason why larger republics are better than small ones

2018-10-09 23:32:28 UTC

@amariokart I wanna see that

2018-10-09 23:32:38 UTC

@agag yes of course

2018-10-09 23:32:39 UTC

UK isn't a very small country

2018-10-09 23:32:43 UTC

Ik

2018-10-09 23:32:59 UTC

Compared to US in population

2018-10-09 23:33:06 UTC

It’s a fifth

2018-10-09 23:33:12 UTC

Take it for what it is

2018-10-09 23:33:44 UTC

I don't think Madison was talking about the UK as an example of a small republic in Fed 10

2018-10-09 23:34:35 UTC

The UK is not a republic

2018-10-09 23:34:39 UTC

Yea my mistake

2018-10-09 23:34:47 UTC

Hmm

2018-10-09 23:35:06 UTC

It isn’t specifically stated who he was referring to as small republics

2018-10-09 23:35:23 UTC

I honestly wanna go back to Dual Federalism

2018-10-09 23:35:34 UTC

Too bad somehow it all changed

2018-10-09 23:36:01 UTC

2018-10-09 23:36:01 UTC

fortnite <:bugman:416588250426114049>

2018-10-09 23:36:26 UTC

There are also disadvantages

2018-10-09 23:36:41 UTC

Very big disadvantages

2018-10-09 23:36:58 UTC

Like how Schools are fucked up rn, in general

2018-10-09 23:37:10 UTC

Idk if anyone still does common core

2018-10-09 23:37:15 UTC

But in general, it’s not good

2018-10-09 23:40:28 UTC

all the feds really do to the school system is say "fine, you can have some funds, but you're going to test these kids"

2018-10-09 23:42:16 UTC

I just read The Constitution, itself states in Article IV, Section 4, declares: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.” Obviously the Framers were not speaking of a political party, as no political parties existed at that time. The Pledge of Allegiance, although not a founding document, does strike the right chord when it asks Americans to "pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands"

2018-10-09 23:42:55 UTC

Yes

2018-10-09 23:42:58 UTC

I could not find democracy one time on it

2018-10-09 23:43:04 UTC

Of course

2018-10-09 23:43:09 UTC
