But a note on Aquinas though:
Keep in mind while reading his works that he is, by and large, attempting to reconcile the philosophical/metaphysical traditions of Plato & Aristotle with that of God and the teachings of Christ. There is a lot of Logic in his works.
Plus, he gets to saying in his works something along the lines of "Grace perfects nature." This phrase, and the ideas behind it are quite heavy concepts. I would say that you can consider yourself well versed in the ideals of Aquinas when you can confidently, and precisely describe what is meant by "Grace perfects nature."

What can I say, you're personally taking the initiative to study the true faith, concepts surrounding it, or larger philosophical concepts in general. Christianity, at its beginnings, was a religion of converts.
And largely still is today
yea i guess
thanks
Many of the great early church fathers were not born Christian. Their writings detail the importance of their conversion, and they give a really nice perspective on what Christianity is and what it means to be a Christian. Most of them were men who converted to the faith while the Roman Empire, not yet fully Christianized, was pursuing a massive and abhorrent persecution of Christians. They were being tortured in horrifying ways, executed in horrifying ways, but these men still converted despite knowing what might lay in store for them. It speaks to the strength of their convictions and the integrity of their character.

Nobody is born Christian, your parents may induct you to the faith but without reflection over many years you can't be said to understand what Christ's message was
