@jeremy at the point where it would no longer be spinning with the earth I imagine it might not even be under the influence of earths gravity at all.
But again I’m no expert on this stuff
I just wanted to give some kind of answer since I’ve seen you ask it before lol
i mean im dying to find out when u hit a point where the atmosphere stops spinnging and u keep going up ur going into a medium spinning a thousand miles an hour to not moving at all
Based off Coriolis effect, the atmosphere doesnt move *with* the earth in terms of relative speed, if that's what you mean. It moves at different speeds based on altitude, temperature, etc. So it's possible (as I'm also no expert) that there may be a stagnant patch somewhere that's not spinning
