Idk. I don't remember much about blocking, and from the other playthroughs I seen, it's hard to gauge how well it works.

Plus I just tried to avoid the thing as much as possible and got out of the room as fast as I could.

How many endings are there?

I know of two now

I think 3 or 4. I only ever got the "true ending." I woulda got infected ending a few times, but I died before finishing those sessions.
