this arc was really disapointing in the anime though :/

they didn't build the character enough in the anime, they just basically killed a random girl

Most of Sao was disappointing

yeah well, the 1st arc was okayish in the anime

that's how it built its hype

the alicization arc is really good in the LN

it's really different from the rest

it wasn't adapted in anime yet, but judging from the previous arc they adapted, I bet it's gonna suck sadly

Shitting on Sao is the popular thing to do

well as I said, the first arc in anime is well done

but if you read the LN, the rest was poorly executed

ALO arc was botched, GGO arc is the same, sinon development was botched too, mother rosario, yuuki was botched too, etc

it lacks too much narrative, back story, development, etc

the anime became a stupid harem for no reason

Mother's Basement is great

He's not shitting on it because it's "popular"

He does it due to a genuine hatred for the series

Also if you really want your perception ruined, go listen to Digibro's review/analysis things of SAO

I've never been a fan of Digi

I like a couple Eva videos, that's about it

But he goes incredibly in depth with exactly its issues

And he was the first to be openly extremely against SAO

Before that it was either really popular among people or "eh I guess I've seen worse"

He's the one that basically made it popular to hate SAO

I haven't watched it, but I get the feeling it won't be the kind of anime I like.

I think its stupid for it to be popular to hate something, people should learn to form their own opinions.

SAO was always polarizing anyway.

Its just a big circlejerk because there are other people that actually like it.

There are lots of much worse shows people don't give a shit about because they aren't as popular.

(Then again... School Days was meant to be a polarizing mindfuck showing the horrors of being an idiot, so I guess the creators actually knew what they were doing...)

That said, the visual novel of School Days is much more disturbing than the anime... I'll never forget the handjob in the subway scene... >_> It was even complete with a creepy theme going on in the background.

So I finally got to play my zelda box

Id say its worth it.
