How much exactly?
let me check
1024?
Actually, I can't check because I was testing it today using my friend's power cord, and he took it now.
I do believe so
rip
How much does it say in Windows?
I don't have my HDD yet so I can't check that
if he doesn't have a powercord, how do you expect him to check in windows ?
😄
It'll come in tomorrow
I didn't realise he wasn't using it
Oops
is that a craptop or a desktop ?
Desktop
can you check directly the ram sticks just to be sure they are indeed 2x 2GB ?
The heatsink/cover plate does say do
I'll make a picture
is that compatible with your mobo ?
Yes
Chipset.. Can you give an example of one
I don't know, p67 is a pretty old one 😄
it's usually in the name of your motherboard
Ohh right
The board is an asus p5q
for example mine is a x99
hmm p45 chipset should be fine if you use the right DDR2 sticks with the right freq
DDR 2
can't see the freq of those, let me check the reference just to be 100% sure
yeah PC2-8500 it's fine
I was thinking about running an os off a USB to check how it would look like in the system
hmm it's gonna be hard for you to test... it's either a hardware issue with your ram sticks or your mobo (try to change the slots if you have extra ones)
or it could be a firmware issue too but the chances are pretty low
the thing is, DDR2 is pretty anciant now and are expensive for what they do
I saw
But this motherboard doesn't go above that so it's all I have for now
there's several tests like "memcheck" that are provided with most linux distro livecd / usb
you could probably check that but I don't know if that will be of any uses
