It’s no secret that Ocalan plays an important role in the political ideology of many Kurdish militant groups, but considering the U.S. has relied heavily on these Kurdish units to clear ISIS from its strongholds across Iraq and Syria, and armed and supported them accordingly, it certainly won’t help the relationship between Ankara and Washington.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee violated campaign finance law by failing to disclose payments for a dossier on Donald Trump, according to a complaint filed Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission.

The complaint from the nonprofit Campaign Legal Center said the Democrats effectively hid the payments from public scrutiny, contrary to the requirements of federal law. By law, campaign and party committees must disclose the reason money is spent and its recipient.

“By filing misleading reports, the DNC and Clinton campaign undermined the vital public information role of campaign disclosures,” said Adav Noti, senior director of trial litigation and strategy at CLC and a former FEC official. “Voters need campaign disclosure laws to be enforced so they can hold candidates accountable for how they raise and spend money. The FEC must investigate this apparent violation and take appropriate action.”

Media reports on Tuesday alleged that a lawyer for the Clinton campaign hired Fusion GPS to investigate Mr. Trump in April 2016. The private research firm reportedly hired Christopher Steele, a former British spy with ties to the FBI, to conduct the opposition research, and he compiled a dossier containing allegations about Mr. Trump’s connections to Russia.

The Clinton campaign and the DNC funded the effort until the end of October 2016, just days before the election.

A group called the Midwestern Alliance has distributed posters at public locations in Columbus in support of its goal to establish a white ethnic state in Midwestern states.

The posters, which say the group is looking for young Midwestern patriots, were spotted Monday morning by a city employee and removed from four ColumBUS shelters around the city and a utility pole at Third and Franklin streets, city officials said.

A call to action is included on the Midwestern Alliance website: “As the number of nonwhites in our country increases, the time for whites to stand up for our people is now more than ever. If we fail to do so, our race will become extinct and our civilization will be swept into the dustbin of history.”

A man who identified himself as **Sam Hyde**, who said he handles the alliance’s website articles and the organization’s training, said in an email to The Republic that the alliance has **2,070** members, although he declined to identify the location of its headquarters.

Hyde said posters were distributed in Columbus “because we have a large presence in and around that city, and seek to spread our message to like-minded Midwestern whites who are as of yet unaware of the movement.”

Twitter has announced that it will stop taking advertising from all accounts owned by Russia Today (RT) and Sputnik, effective immediately as US lawmakers continue to investigate the impact of foreign-sponsored fake news on the 2016 election.

“We did not come to this decision lightly, and are taking this step now as part of our ongoing commitment to help protect the integrity of the user experience on Twitter,” the company said.

RT’s editor-in-chief, Margarita Simonyan, attacked the move on Twitter, asking whether Twitter’s chief executive, Jack Dorsey, would explain to Congress why the company had asked the Russian service to invest in advertising around the election.

Rosamaria Hernandez, who is undocumented but has lived in the US since she was 3 months old, and her cousin were confronted around 2 a.m. Tuesday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

Rosamaria and her cousin, who is a US citizen, were in an ambulance and being transferred between two hospitals so the little girl could undergo emergency gall bladder surgery at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, the Caller-Times reported.

Rosamaria has lived in Laredo since being brought by her parents from Mexico to the US illegally as a baby.

A Customs and Border Protection spokesman said Rosamaria was **no exception to the agency’s responsibility to follow immigration law.**
