@Tinker Tom if McDonalds were to buy arms with their massive wealth, and contract soldiers with their massive wealth, and form an armed forces
what would stop them from violating ALL the NAP's and just taking over?
Yea, shit this up too. It's the only thing you guys know how to do : ^)
a militia cant stop F15's from carpetbombing them
@ikillu blame tom
They can kill the families of the pilots
theoretically
In theory
I go now for real
whats stopping mcdonalds from putting families under their protection? i.e just moving families to dorms in the capital of mcdonistan
@Double Negative the misconception with corporations in an AnCap society is the idea that they would be supported when something like this were to happens
Let's say that McDonalds goes on a McMilitary Campaign
Nobody is going to support them anymore, no one will buy burgers or anything, cutting off their revenue
Could they not support themselves in part by the spoils of war?
Not to mention that other PMCs that are under contract by insurance companies would also be in the mix
Father k piss off please
The motion doesnt have to be instantaneous, I'd imagine McDonalds would attempt to diversify and overtake competitors (either by force or by legitimate methods) while acquiring a manufacturing base
@Double Negative They sure could, but it a company is doing well, why would I, a stockholder, go for war when I'm being paid millions?
A state's wealth and power derives from forceful accumulation of taxes, the people refuse to pay taxes and cut revenue
does the state lose its power?
@Double Negative that manufacturing base needs to be funded by something
With a state, its by taxes, aka something that isn't going away
With McDonalds
Its burgers
And people and choose to not buy burgers
>needs to be funded
by McDonald's massive diversified portfolio of industries
McConcrete sales going directly into McKalishnikov
Ok, and they'd be blacklisted for all of it
but they arent currently violently overtaking the planet
Ok, when they do
they can bide their time and slowly become a monopoly before making their move
Incorrect
Natural monopolies are incredibly rare and only happen when you can't compete with the products or when there is a tech barrier to reducing costs or improving designs
And even then they get broken up when literally anything changes
>natural
"whoops, this board of directors got wiped out by an unnamed killsquad. guess we, as an innocent third party, will buy the company after it devalues :^)"
The monopolies you see now wouldn't happen in a free market
The problem with ancapistan isnt a sole service provider like mcdonalds, but corporations with a natural monopoly on resources, or oligarchism
free market needs a governing force to keep it free
Itself
i'm just using mcdonalds as a placeholder for "big company", any company could do this if they had the capital to start
