I got into a debate once with communists who got triggered by me saying that Chamberlain was a bad prime minister. That was fun.

Chamberlain was a Tory though

Why would any Commie back him?

Regardless of whether or not Geneva inspectors were in the camps, you have to remember that the Nazis were proactive in covering these up from outside eyes, which is why the exterminations were only really made known to the outside world when Soviet and American forces stumbled on them during their push into Germany (despite leaders from America, Britain, and Poland namely knowing about this earlier). It's not as simple as "they didn't find much bad" because there was much more at play here.

It was odd. I figure it was because the USSR was still at peace with Hitler then.

Ah

2019-11-26 22:07:50 UTC

My bad, late reply

2019-11-26 22:07:50 UTC

So it would be critical of Stalin...who was the slimest critter of Europe at the time.

Stalin was a worse person than Hitler

At least Hitler believed he was helping

2019-11-26 22:08:17 UTC

Oh Stalin was awful

Stalin knew he was a cunt and still did what he did

2019-11-26 22:08:44 UTC

He's at least on par with Hitler

2019-11-26 22:09:07 UTC

Difference is, his regime was far longer lasting

Yeah

Franco was less bad but lasted longer

2019-11-26 22:09:34 UTC

Franco was smart.

Less of a tumour and more of a rash

Franco scammed Hitler

2019-11-26 22:10:14 UTC

Franco stayed neutral and kept out, so he was able to secure his regime whoever won.

It's scary how similar the USSR and the Nazis were

At the end of the day, one of the main fathers of Fascism (Mussolini) used to be a Socialist

Until he was kicked out of the party

2019-11-26 22:11:31 UTC

Nazis somewhat emulated the USSR, even though they hated them.

Nazis believed in a strong state that "helped" it's people but also crushed it's opponents

Economically, the Nazis were quite centrists

It's just that they were culturally far right

2019-11-26 22:13:11 UTC

Yep. They were fine with open trade, and weren't as insanely centrallly planned as the USSR.

Not to mention the Nazis were quite diverse with certain ideas that Hitlwr really didn't care about in their own party

Which is why there was a Socialist wing of the Nazi Party in the 1920s and 30s

2019-11-26 22:16:25 UTC

For a bit...till the night of the long knives.

That was mainly the SA though

That was less about ideology and more about Army

Hitler was scared the SA would overthrow him

Though he did get out of his way to kill journalists

2019-11-26 22:18:58 UTC

He wasn't entirely wrong.

Because he is a kind man who doesn't leave out the little people!
