the previous restrictions were preventing that

```I have broad research interests in pediatric nutrition, including school-based interventions, child/adolescent health and development, health disparities, and nutrition policies. I currently have a K01 Mentored Research Scientist Development Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to examine the influence of quick-service restaurants on children’s diets. My research also focuses on innovative strategies to encourage the consumption of healthier school foods, the impact of school-based nutrition policies on children’s consumption of competitive foods (e.g. vending and à la carte snacks), and the association between diet and cognitive functioning. Prior to coming to Harvard, I was an ORISE Policy and Science fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity.
nutrition isn't a complicated matter
2020-01-19 22:58:41 UTC
it seems her professional career focues on exactly this topic
2020-01-19 22:58:57 UTC
the previous restrictions were MANDATING too many carbohydrates and sugars
2020-01-19 22:59:09 UTC
now it's up to the local districts to customize it
2020-01-19 22:59:17 UTC
and they can have the same mandate if they wish
2020-01-19 22:59:19 UTC
but it's unhealthy
2020-01-19 22:59:36 UTC
or they can have mandate that cuts the sugar and gives an actual healthy diet
2020-01-19 22:59:55 UTC
I can read and that is not what I am reading. I'm not a big carb guy, but it mandated whole grains and restricted refined grains
2020-01-19 23:00:02 UTC
for one
2020-01-19 23:00:12 UTC
Palin shows up with cookies in protest
2020-01-19 23:00:16 UTC
_yawns_
2020-01-19 23:00:27 UTC
it shouldn't have been a federal mandate in the first place
2020-01-19 23:00:35 UTC
obama should have stayed out of it
2020-01-19 23:01:07 UTC
then the MAGA straw. just imagine being that gleefully petty, but half the electorate buys 3 of it.
```White Bread is a “jewish Invention” Nazi Radio Explains to Undernourished Germans
```
2020-01-19 23:01:26 UTC
maybe you prefer the Nazi take on it
2020-01-19 23:01:33 UTC
white bread is terrible for you
2020-01-19 23:01:37 UTC
so don't eat it
2020-01-19 23:01:40 UTC
Obama was fighting a Jewish plot to create fat people
2020-01-19 23:02:00 UTC
kids should be taught self control
2020-01-19 23:02:11 UTC
```Unable to explain the complete disappearance of white bread which cannot be secured even by Nazi soldiers in hospitals, the Nazi radio this week stated that white flower is actually nothing but a Jewish invention. “The baking of white bread,” the Nazi broadcaster explained, “was promoted by Jews both for speculative reasons and also for the purpose of undermining the health of the German people. Before the Jews settled in Germany, the people generally ate whole wheat bread. For the last century, however, the Jews pushing themselves in between the producer and the consumer, fostered the production of ‘dead flour’ which is deprived of the main nutritive value.”```

2020-01-19 23:02:35 UTC

Obama and your Nazi idols agreed on something

2020-01-19 23:02:45 UTC

Why do you want to create fat American kids?

2020-01-19 23:02:46 UTC

i don't have nazi idols

2020-01-19 23:03:11 UTC

the pressure should be on local districts

2020-01-19 23:03:16 UTC

not the federal government

2020-01-19 23:03:21 UTC

it's not their responsibility

2020-01-19 23:03:26 UTC

school lunches are not their responsibility

2020-01-19 23:06:03 UTC

historically at least

2020-01-19 23:06:21 UTC

not any more than general purpose food laws

2020-01-19 23:06:25 UTC

that apply universally

2020-01-19 23:06:25 UTC

```The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (79 P.L. 396, 60 Stat. 230) is a 1946 United States federal law that created the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to provide low-cost or free school lunch meals to qualified students through subsidies to schools.[1] The program was established as a way to prop up food prices by absorbing farm surpluses, while at the same time providing food to school age children.[2] It was named after Richard Russell, Jr., signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1946,[3] and entered the federal government into schools dietary programs on June 4, 1946```
