You're aiming to make some extremely narrow remark pretty damn soon, aren't you?
There it is. lol
Lol
appeal to the Rich? lose votes.
Republicans have always been the pro business party
seems like a good thing
Since Nixon’s southern strategy, and really cemented in Bush’s 20014 campaign
*2004
Definitely if you're on the business end
of things.
They’ve run a right wing identity politics play
To cobble together a coalition
nixons southern strategy lol
flipped one seat
...
and then they voted for carter
That was literally the name of it
Uuuuh ok just look at an electoral map I guess
This is a weird thing to argue against
sure look at the election immediately following Nixon pls.
Anyway, there’s been a tension at times in the Republican Party between the populist right wing (which includes the very poor) and the business interests (which include the very rich)
Trump was in a way the victory of the populist right (racist/anti-immigrant/protectionist) against the pro-business right
anyway... moving on
The dem coalition is a different beast, at least since 65
Relying on unions (middle class) urban poor and blacks
But that’s been changing as the cities change, and now educated white suburbanites, which used to be solidly republican are leaning left
So to answer your question, republicans are the party of the ultra wealthy and the rural poor, democrats are the party of the urban middle class and educated suburbans
muh southern strategy
She's telling you things in good faith.
You're reacting poorly.
how did that southern strategy work out in 76?
a simple IQ map next to the electoral college would show that Republican areas have high average IQ.m.
might be all those illegals and minorities dragging down that average. who knows.
lmao
would you like me to bring out education and party statistics
These guys love to bring up IQ - wonder how many of them have even taken an IQ test? Probably just pretend that the white average is where they'd place... <:lol:583236542580129825>
Well realistically they think they are well above average. But cool story nonetheless
It's fine.
If you repeat something the necessary amount of times to them,
it inevitably becomes true,
